A number of mixed-media artists gave hands-on demonstrations in Open Studios, including Mary Fisher, Judy Coates Perez, Jamie Fingal, and Frances Holiday Alford (all shown in above).

Anyone attending the quilt show had the opportunity to throw their name in the Workshop lottery and participate in hour-long, mixed media workshops.

More than 330 brave and humor-loving quilters joined Patricia Bolton for her luncheon, "Surviving the Runway," a raucous, table-pounding 90 minutes of creative challenges, music, and laughter. The winner of the Runway won a brand new Huskystar ER-10 needle-felting machine courtesy of Husqvarna Viking, and many exciting door prizes will once again be awarded at "Surviving the Runway" in Chicago, Thursday, April 10.
