TEXAS HOLD 'EM ARTIST TRADING CARD CHALLENGE

have we got a deal for you in Houston this fall!

Cloth Paper Scissors® is hosting its second Fabric and Mixed-media Artist Trading Card Challenge extravaganza, culminating in a display and mega-swap of ATCs at the Make It University™ (Make It U!™) section of International Quilt Festival/Fall show in Houston, Texas this November 2 - 5, 2006. We're once again teaming up with Quilts, Inc. to bring a mixed-media presence to the show, and you're invited to join in the artistic escapade!

the deal

• You make up to three artist trading cards. You can create them with any materials (fabric, paper, metal, etc.) and embellish them as you like, so long as they measure no more than 2 1/2" x 3 1/2", inclusive of all embellishments. (See Janet Ghio's article on fabric ATCs in the Spring 2004 issue of Quilting Arts Magazine® for guidance.) The cards can be different from each other, or follow a theme; it's your choice. On the back, sign and date each card and add your email address.
   
• Mail the card(s) to our offices at Quilting Arts, LLC, in time for us to receive them on or before Monday, October 16, 2006. The card(s) must be in our hot little hands by October 16 to be included, no exceptions. We'll hold on to the cards, reveling in their artistic beauty, creativity, and humor while considering them for possible publication on our website. In the meantime, we'll mount the ATCs for display at the International Quilt Festival.

You come to the International Quilt Festival in Houston. Participate in the one-hour workshops with world-renowned, mixed-media artists and Patricia Bolton, editor-in-chief of Quilting Arts Magazine® and Cloth Paper Scissors®; shop the vendors selling all kinds of goodies for fiber and paper arts; and, of course, visit us at the Cloth Paper Scissors®/Quilting Arts Magazine® booth. There you can see ATCs from the challenge on display, AND we'll draw from the deck to give you back as many ATCs as you sent in. At the end of the quilt show, any unclaimed ATCs become the property of Quilting Arts, LLC.
