Finding just the right fabrics for a Kalidescope is hard but part of the fun of doing them too .If you want to see something really cool put this up as a desktop and put bubbles on as a screensaver ,the bubbles make it come alive,

sneak peek chocolate diamonds

this is a sneak peak at a Kalidescope I call chocolate diamonds because I was looking at one of the new diamonds with the square cut in the middle and I found some great chocolate background fabric . I havent put together the pie shapes yet and it will be part of a large quilt with mulitiple Kalidescopes ,So it will be quiet awhile before this one is finished, I recently bought a home pressing machine and wow the differance is remarkable , no way in a million years I could have gotten those shapes as flat and perfect with any iron,

The sparkle is from textiva film. I attached it with mistyfuse, covered it with tulle, used quilt backing for support and hand and machine embroidered on top of that.

my addiction goes on, you're going to know my whole family....my daughter Aurelia was doing belly dancing on that photo and I liked her radiant and happy expression. I used Maria Elkins ' method but I'm adding my personnal touch...I free motion stitched everything...the ear-rings are made of golden lace.

My first Crazy Quilt

As you can see, I'm a beginner. I started this with the middle which I hand painted. Then I starting collecting how to books, ribbons, embroidery floss, beads and fabric. I need all the input I can get because I don't know anyone who does this. I've started a new quilt and I already need help. Is anyone out there willing to help me? I take criticism well.

My first original design, this quilt was made in response to a challenge using yoyos. The tree was made with fabric that i scrunched when wet, then applied interfacing to the back to keep the shape. I ironed a little too long and slightly scorched the fabric folds......a little white puffy paint fixed the problem and gave even more definition to the trunk (gotta love little mistakes!). The "granny smith apples" are yoyos, hand appliqued to the tree.

This angel who I have created meditating represents to me a quiet mind. Colors were chosen based on how they made me feel. Because she brings a sense of calmness we have her hanging in our bedroom. 36x42" Thanks for taken a peek:)
