My Bio

Love artsy-quilty experimenting - with Tyvek, Lutradur, heat gun, embellishing, free-motion sewing, etc. I have to get past "what's it going to be" because most of the time I have no earthly idea - and NO, I might not "finish" it! I am more interested in "what if"!

I love threaded needles - hate housework!

Three cats; one dog; the same husband I have had for over 35 years; three sewing machines; lots of critters who visit our yard!

  • Rusty Things

    My husband is renovating and shoring up our barn that nearly collapsed in the snow last winter. Having no knowledge of the magical techniques that are discussed on this wonderful site, he yelled "do you want a bucket full of rusty nails?". I jumped out of my chair and ran to have a look. There WAS a bucket full of nails - with the promise of many more to come. Then I asked if he thought our Nice New Next Door Neighbours would mind if I  took some wire cutters to their rusty wire fencing that they will be taking for recycling. My husband asked me what was wrong with the "rusty things" he'd been saving behind the barn so HE could take them for recycling. I THINK HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THAT I NEED RUSTY THINGS! And maybe he will remove that wonderful rusty hinge from the barn door ... and the rusty hook closure thingy ... and the rusty chains that we inherited from the original owners ... and then theres the rusty ice-tongs that we found ...  Rust! Glorious Rust!

    I'm off now - to buy some vinegar.
